The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority planted almost 56,000 trees on private land this spring, and landowners are expected to plant 20,000 more.
That’s good news considering the ABCA watershed report card gave forest conditions a ‘D’ grade last year and water quality in the watershed earned a ‘C.’
If you want to learn how to collect seed and plan your own planting for 2009, the ABCA is offering a free workshop (including lunch!) Thursday, June 5 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Morrison Dam site east of Exeter. Call Trees Ontario at 1 877-646-1193 to register.
